What an odd day...

Yesterday afternoon, I called the police on our upstairs neighbors. A regular family rents above us and they have some teenagers, but usually they're not too bad. But with all families, sometimes they argue. Well this arguement went from rather silly to full out brawl with what sounded like hitting and throwing stuff, but definate screaming, swearing, and death threats. And of course this took place in their one bedroom that is on our level so I pretty much had a front-row seat. I banged on the door to kind of remind them others were listening in. That stopped them for about 30 seconds. Well it just kept getting worse and worse so I called the police to make sure they were ok. By the time the police showed up, they'd calmed down a bit. The police asked if I wanted to file charges or complaints or something like that. I didn't, I just wanted to make sure they were ok. While I'm glad everything turned out, I'm a little afraid of retaliation. The last time I called police on neighbors, we got a mysterious plate of cookies the next day that had ex-lax or something of the kind in them. We couldn't prove it, but the only person who didn't get sick was the one who didn't eat any of them. But then again that was in the dorms on campus where high-schoolers never mature. These neighbors have tried to get us in trouble on false charges before. I'll be really glad once we move away, hopefully our future neighbors will be better.

The day at least ended well, we went to the Rexburg Temple with Andrew's grandparents. I wish I could have done something like that with my own, but that never happened. Anyway, it was a great ending to a stressful and scary day!

One thing that I have found with neighbors is that ZERO communication causes more problems than anything else.

YUCK! I've had horrendous neighbors, too. I hope also that your new neighbors in Boise will bemore tolerable.
